Rob Pegoraro writes in todays
Washington Post that
Apple's iLife 6 adds quite a few new features to the iLife suite. iLife now has a new tool called iWeb for creating websites and writing blogs. iPhoto has been improved to hold a lot more photos and allow for photocasting. But all this comes at a steep price - a $79 cost, with no discount for upgrade.
But if you've already paid for iLife '05 and don't have a hankering for podcasting or blogging, you should think hard about jumping on this year's release.
I tend to agree. Its tough to shell out $79 year after year for the same suite with some additional benefits. I can already do much of what iPhoto does with the help of GIMP, Cyberduck, Gallerie and other open source programs. Apple has made quite a cash cow out of its iLife suite. But come on Apple, give us a break. No upgrade price? Now thats not fair.
